Yael Stone, born in Australia and a resident of New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as an inmate In Orange Is the New Black. Yael Stone attended NIDA. Yael's early career has allowed her to meet and work with the best Australian storytellers. Yael has had a long and successful career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was thrilled to discover her new home after the Brooklyn Academy of Music, which was the venue where the production premiered to critical acclaim, became the place she now calls New York City. Yael co-founded The Cannery. Based at Bushwick, Brooklyn, the business supports the development of new writing as well as imaginative, inventive ventures.
